Duskcoil is a record of technical projects built solo, by hand.

From building and running a home server, to developing an autonomous robot, to surveying the technology around both, to researching major corporations. Across these different areas, one person handles the entire process — design, implementation, and verification — and keeps what's learned along the way as a record, successes and failures alike. The corporate research series is held to the same standard: every figure and claim comes from a real primary source — earnings releases, IR filings, official announcements — never fabricated.

The name "Duskcoil" carries a private joke that only works in Japanese: read aloud in katakana ("dasukukoiru"), it echoes "dasoku" (蛇足) — literally "legs on a snake," a classical idiom for an unnecessary flourish added past the point of need. The idea that the real interest often lives one step past what's strictly necessary is baked into the name itself.
